One 60-day journey circling the Australian Coast has been cancelled days after the death of an elderly female passenger who was left behind by the ship on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with fellow passengers from the Coral Adventurer, but broke off from the party for a pause. The liner sailed away leaving her and came back later that day after the ship staff discovered the passenger was not present.

A large-scale search operation discovered her person the next day.

Officials are investigating the event, alongside investigators and the official investigator.

Head of the voyage organizer announced that guests and crew on the vessel were informed that the remainder of the journey had been cancelled due to the "tragic passing and previous mechanical issues".

Through an announcement, he further stated that travelers would be provided a total repayment, and said the operator was working "to coordinate the travel back of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Authorities also issued an revised announcement, and said they had "issued a notice to the Master" prohibiting any new passengers from entering the ship.

The official said that they would visit the ship in the port city upon its return.

The liner initially left the Australian port on the 24th of October, and was only 48 hours into the journey at the point of the elderly woman's passing. The tropical location was the first stop on the itinerary.

The child of the victim said that her relatives was "shocked and saddened that the liner left the island after an planned tour without my mother".

In her statement, she portrayed her mum as an "vigorous octogenarian" who was a affiliate of a walking group.

"Based on limited information we have been provided, it seems that there was a failure of care and common sense," she stated.
